Hot Chocolate

Spanish hot chocolate, chocolate caliente, rich and thick, is a world away from the watery concoctions served elsewhere. The Spanish enjoy hot chocolate for breakfast, and there are even specialist establishments called chocolaterias that serve it, accompanied by sweet cakes and pastries. Of course, probably the best accompaniment is fresh churros, dipped in indulgently.

There are commercial packet mixes available, which do work quite well, but it is not difficult to make with real chocolate, milk and cornflour.
