We recently reviewed Bodega Matsu’s El Viejo – El Picaro is the youngest of the range and consequently exhibits a youthful freshness.

Made from 100% Tempranillo/Tinta del Toro. The grapes come from mature vines of over 50 years of age, but the wine is aged for only two months, preserving the natural fruit profile.

Vivid crimson-purple in the glass with aromas of ripe blackberries and raspberries, with subtle hints of fresh cocoa and liquorice and a good finish.

It can be enjoyed on its own or paired with red meats.
